We had a great July 4th. My home church does a nice picnic with a lot of activities. The theme this year was on the Civil War, so some people dressed up in that time period. We had a nice time visiting with everyone, and we hardly saw our girls all day. Someone was always wanting to hold them. It was a great break for us. Praise the Lord we live in a free country. May we not forget the sacrifice it took.
We started out the morning at Shaun’s 5K race down town Ann Arbor. My mom drove us, and we took Esther along, but my dad stayed home with Naomi because she was still sleeping. Shaun did a great job on his race. I was so proud of him. It was a personal best for him.
Here are the rest of the pictures from the picnic.

We left on Thursday morning to fly to Michigan to visit my parents. Our flight left at 6:30 in the morning from Denver and we arrived safely in Detroit. It was a long day and a long flight, but the girls did a great job.
We put the girls to bed on Wednesday night in the clothes they were going to wear on the plane. We got up at 3:45 on Thursday morning and when Naomi heard us packing last minute things she came stumbling out of her room to see what was going on. She looked so cute.
Shortly after we arrived at my parents I took Naomi down to see the pigs. She enjoyed herself. She points to them and says “oink oink”.
We borrowed things (car seats, stroller, etc.) for the girls so we didn’t have to bring all that with us. Thank you to all those who let us use your things. Esther looks so cute in the highchair. I just had to share this picture.

I can’t believe Esther is 8 months old. She is so much fun. She has just learned to crawl and is having a great time. If she wants to get somewhere quickly, she army crawls. She has strong little arms, and pushes with her feet. Esther is a hard one to hold. She is always moving. When she is tired she will sometimes cuddle. Those times are precious. Esther LOVES water. Bath time is always a joy, and when she gets to go in our little pool, she is all smiles. Esther makes lots of funny noises and likes to growl at her daddy. She keeps us laughing.

I finally got around to getting Naomi’s two year old pictures done. I had them scheduled last month, but Naomi had a rash on her face and I had to cancel. Click here if you want to see a slide show of the pictures.

Naomi got her first haircut last week. She did such a great job. We went to a special kids salon called LolliLocks. What fun! They only cut off about 1 1/2 inches to straighten out the ends. Then they styled it for her. She looks so cute.
