Christmas is such a special time of year, and with kids around it makes it even better. Even amid the giving and receiving may we never forget the true meaning of Christmas. I’m so thankful our Lord humbled Himself and came to give his life for us.

Before my parents went back to Michigan we celebrated Christmas with them. It was nice for my parents to see the kids open their presents.

For our birthdays, my parents took Justin and me, along with our spouses, to the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs. We went the day after Thanksgiving, and a good friend of ours watched the kids for us. The Broadmoor is such a special place and is so beautiful. They had everything decorated for Christmas and had their tree lighting ceremony while we were there. Thanks so much mom and dad for taking us! We had a wonderful time together.

Justin and I celebrated our birthdays on the Monday before Thanksgiving by getting together at our house for dinner. Then we went to Justin and Emily’s apartment for cake. Emily had this awesome cake made for Justin in the shape of a diver. I enjoy celebrating my b-day with my brother.

For Thanksgiving, everyone came to our house, and Justin fried a turkey for us. It was beautiful outside, perfect for frying a turkey. We had a nice day together as a family.

Esther turned 4 years old on October 28th, and she was so excited for her birthday to arrive. With Esther around there is never a dull moment. She brings excitement to our little family, and I love looking at life through her eyes. Happy Birthday to our sweet Esther! We love you!
