It was nice for my parents to see the kids open their presents.

We went the day after Thanksgiving, and a good friend of ours watched the kids for us. The Broadmoor is such a special place and is so beautiful. They had everything decorated for Christmas and had their tree lighting ceremony while we were there. Thanks so much mom and dad for taking us! We had a wonderful time together.

We took a golf cart and explored the golf course. A view of the Broadmoor from the golf course. Family bingo! We didn't win anything. Gingerbread houses. Everything was so beautifully decorated for Christmas. Christmas trees everywhere. Friday night Dinner Another family bingo game. Dinner Saturday night at The Golden Bee. See the bees on our shirts? Then we went to Justin and Emily’s apartment for cake. Emily had this awesome cake made for Justin in the shape of a diver. I enjoy celebrating my b-day with my brother.

For Thanksgiving, everyone came to our house, and Justin fried a turkey for us. It was beautiful outside, perfect for frying a turkey. We had a nice day together as a family.

It started raining last night and then it turned to snow. It has been snowing on and off ever since. Naomi is at school, so I got Esther and Ethan all dressed up and we went for a walk to the mailbox, and then played in the back yard. Ethan loves the snow and cried when he had to come in.

We rented a cabin in the mountains about 2 hours away, and enjoyed some nice relaxing family time together. It was wonderful! It is so peaceful and beautiful in the mountains, and the weather is just perfect. I’m so glad we were able to make some great memories as a family.

This deer greeted us as soon as we arrived at the cabin. The name of our cabin was Fox Run. Our sweet kids! We enjoyed taking walks together. Enjoying the wonderful weather. Ethan loved running around. . . and playing with the rocks. Thought this trunk was cool. Naomi's "bow and arrow". =) Ethan Esther A pretty flower Naomi found. Sunset from the master bedroom balcony. P1050843 The girls loved their bunk beds, or as they called them "bonk beds". The girls had fun in the hot tub. We enjoyed it at night after the kids were in bed. Taking another walk. Naomi was brave enough to ride all the rides, but Esther only rode a few. This year the girls had a blast together, and they used their own money to purchase tickets for the rides. Their favorite ride was a small roller coaster, I think they rode it at least 4 times. Ethan is still to young, but I think he will have just as much fun next year.

We were to visit them in their jungle ministry, but that didn’t work out, so we met them in the capital city, Lima. We had a nice time of fellowship, and I hope we were an encouragement to them. This was the first missions trip I have ever been on, and it was a great experience. There is so much I could say, but I will let the pictures tell about our time.

The Fitzgeralds Our first morning there we took a walk on the beach. The stroller wouldn't roll on the sand. It was winter in Peru, and we only saw the sun once. We stayed in the white beach house with the blue garage door. Isaiah trying to push the stroller. We didn't bring warm enough clothes. We took the bus everywhere. It was interesting. They would pack those buses. Local market! Chicken. Seafood! Beef! Veggies! Fruit! Making limeade. We had to wash all our produce in water treated with iodine. Buddy with his sons, Joseph and Isaiah. Grocery shopping! It was a treat for the Fitzgeralds to go shopping in a nice grocery store. Shaun carried the food home in his backpack. The only day we saw the sun. Some other missionaries came and visited. We had a nice time of fellowship. Playing a game. All the missionaries and their families. The Fitzgeralds, the Harris Family, and the Chapman Family. We went to eat at a Japanese Stake House for Loren's B-day. Thought it was funny that ketchup, mayonnaise, and mustard came in bags. I made cinnamon rolls with no measuring utensils or mixers. Playing a game. Bus ride to church. Walking the rest of the way to church. Shaun and I sang, and then Shaun preached while Buddy interpreted. Loren and I at one of the nice malls. Celebrating Loren's B-day at the Chapman's house. In front of the beach house. It was common to see clothes drying in the roof. One of the modes for transportation. Shaun trying to fix Buddy's phone while in town. Our bedroom at the beach house. I love the orange sheets. The family room. Lovely orange kitchen. Saying goodbye at the airport. They left in the morning, and our flight was not until almost midnight. We spent the day with Tim and Cheryl Chapman after saying goodbye to the Fitzgeralds. Shopping at the Inca Markets. Headed to a mall that is on the coast. Weaving So glad to be home! We brought these dolls home for the girls. They loved them! This was the hardest one I have done so far. I didn’t train very hard, and it was a very hilly course. My friend Ruth and I ran together, and we did good for the first 2 miles, then we started to walk as the hills loomed before us. It was an uphill finish and as we saw our friends and family waiting for us at the finish line we ran the rest of the way. Good job Ruth on your first race! Thanks for running with me.
