Naomi is in Kindergarten!

Naomi started school this week, the day after we got back from family vacation. I can’t believe I’m a school mom. =) The Lord graciously allowed us to put her in Ambleside School of Colorado which is a private school that is renting our church facilities. We became familiar with the school over a year ago when they first approached the church about renting. Shaun was really impressed with the school leadership, and we both began to research and pray about Naomi going there. It is nice that they are using our church. Naomi is in a familiar environment and her dad gets to take her to school each morning. She goes all day Monday, Wednesday, and half a day Friday. So far she seems to enjoy it. The school has uniforms, and I am so glad. Naomi likes clothes a little too much, and with the uniforms her choices are limited. On her first day of school she came down to breakfast in a red polo, got her “first day of school” pictures taken, and then wanted to change into another shirt. So, we let her. Like I said the choices are limited, and it makes getting dressed in the morning a little easier. Esther misses Naomi while she is gone, but we all seem to be adjusting well. I’m looking forward to getting used to the “new normal”. It has been a busy week.

Naomi’s Music

Naomi has been taking group music lessons at Children’s Music Academy since January. Today was their last class before summer break, and they start up again in August. I realized I hadn’t taken any pictures of her, so I took a few today. I have enjoyed taking this class with her and she seems to be learning a lot.

Five Years Old!

Naomi turned 5 years old this past weekend. Can you believe it? She will be going to Kindergarten this fall. My parents are here visiting, and Naomi and Esther got to have a sleep over with them on Friday. They were so excited. The next morning they all went out to breakfast at IHop for Naomi’s birthday. Then Saturday night we celebrated with the whole family.

My Babies at 4 Months Old

Here are pictures of each of my kids at 4 months old. What a little peanut Esther was. Ethan turned 4 months while we were on our family vacation. He has his 4 month appointment on Friday, so I will post more pictures of the little man and let you know how big he has gotten. Who do you think Ethan looks like?

Yesterday was Naomi’s 4th birthday. Happy Birthday my sweet girl! We went to the zoo and celebrated her birthday at dinner. We all had a great time. I will post more pictures later.

Naomi’s Haircut

Last week Naomi got a hold of some scissors and cut her hair. These scissors were in a zippered case in the back of the diaper drawer in Ethan’s room. I thought for sure they were safe, but Esther found them. She cut her dolls dress then gave them to Naomi. They were little nail cutting scissors, and I walked into Naomi’s room to find her hacking away at her hair. I was so sad when I saw clumps of long hair on the floor. She cut so close to her scalp that you really couldn’t tell she cut her hair. So, we left it for a week, but it just looked thin and scraggly at the ends. Therefore, we decided to get it cut. Naomi looks really cute and loves her new look. Now I have taken any scissors that might possibly be found and hidden them. Hopefully we won’t have another hair cutting incident.

Naomi’s Creativity

Naomi was sad when I took down all the decorations from Christmas. She kept asking “Is Christmas over?, Why are you taking all the stuff down?” Since then she has asked a few times when Christmas is coming again. Well, yesterday Naomi found the drawer full of bibs and decided to decorate with them. She hung them all over her room and then came running to find me “Mommy, come look I decorated for Christmas.” It was so cute. I love her imagination. The girls cleaned it all up before bed last night, but when she did it again today I had to take some pictures. Esther even helped by decorating her crib. When they saw me taking pictures, they wanted to sit by their decorations and get pictures taken too.
