Last Sunday we had a huge thunder storm. It rained cats and dogs. It woke us all up from our Sunday afternoon nap. There were rivers of water flowing down the street. The hail damaged some of my flowers, but I think they will grow back. Big thunder storms are rare in Colorado, so it was kind of fun.

My parents came for a visit and we had a great time together. Whenever my dad comes to visit we always put him to work. He helped me paint our bedroom, and plant flowers in our garden. He also mowed the lawn a few times. My mom was also a huge help with the girls, meals, and laundry. Naomi and Esther also had a great time with Nana & Grandpy. We miss you!

Our Naomi turned 3 on Thursday. What a big girl she has become. We had a great birthday celebration for her. My mom, dad, and Aunt Amy were here, and Shaun’s parents watched over video chat.

On Saturday Shaun took me for a drive in the mountains. We stopped at Estes Park and walked along the river and then had dinner. We had a wonderful time together. On the way home we saw some elk and some bear. It was exciting to see the bears.

I have a wonderful family, and I had a great Mother’s Day. Although being a mother is hard work, and sometimes I don’t enjoy it, I have much to be thankful for. Motherhood is a great gift. Thanks for making me feel special.
