On The Go Again!

This past weekend we traveled to Colorado Springs and spent two nights with our good friends, Steve and Jennifer Murray and their 3 kids. On Friday Shaun helped Steve put in an attic fan. On Saturday we packed all the kids up and went to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. The Murray’s had a family pass and we all got in for free. On the way to the zoo we drove through Garden of the Gods. It is beautiful to see all the rock formations. We didn’t stop to get any pictures. I got this one off the website.

The zoo is on the side of Cheyenne Mountain and you get some beautiful views of Colorado Springs. We had a wonderful time feeding the giraffes, the Australian parakeets, and petting the wallabies. It is such a fun and different zoo, and many of the animals were out. Naomi had a great time ridding in a backpack on daddy’s shoulders, she looked like a queen.

Thanks Murray’s for a great weekend. We will have to do it again sometime.

Our Family Vacation.

In front of the cottage.

We had a wonderful week at the cottage on Lake Winnebago. Five generations of Walker’s have now stayed in that cottage. Shaun’s great-grandpa and grandpa built it in the 1940’s. Other than the added plumbing it is still the same. Shaun has a lot of great memories spending summers there. It was fun to share the experience with him.

Over the weekend we had the Walker Family Picnic. It was a hot day, but we had a beautiful breeze off the lake. It was great to see everyone again. Naomi was a such a good girl. That was the first time everyone had seen her.

It was nice to see Tina and Adam while we were there. We met them in town for pizza and then we went to a concert in the park. Afterwards they came back to the cottage and we had a campfire and smore’s. What fun!

It was nice to spend some time together.

We enjoyed a short day (it was really hot) at Lakeside Park. We watched some kids learning to sail, went up in the Lighthouse and then took Naomi on some rides. She really liked the carousel, but I’m not sure what she thought about the train.

Up in the lighthouse at Lakeside Park.I love carousels and wanted to take Naomi for a ride.Naomi would pet the horse and say “wee”.Daddy rode with Naomi on the train.

Naomi enjoyed being the center of attention. Grams got her some really cool toys. She had her own little lawn chair and a pool to splash in. We discovered that she loves watermelon. When we first put her on the beach she didn’t want anything to do with the sand and wouldn’t leave her towel. Once she got used to it, she was having a blast and even managed to eat some. She looked so cute in her Nemo bathing suite. I couldn’t stop taking pictures.

Sunsets, fishing, campfires, and walks along the beach road – we enjoyed it so much, we didn’t want to leave. The Lord even made it possible for us to stay on day longer. That morning I had been reading in James 1:17 “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above. . .” What a wonderful heavenly Father we have.

Family Vacation

What a whirlwind morning! We had another showing on our condo and we were trying to pack. The person that looked at our condo on Monday wanted to see it again. That’s great news! We are trusting in the Lord and waiting to hear the outcome.

Lake Winnebago here we come! We are leaving this evening for our family vacation. We can’t wait. We are going to be staying in the cottage on the lake. No phone, no computer, no TV. Wonderful! We will be visiting the Walker side of the family. It has been awhile since we have seen everyone. Shaun’s aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandma haven’t seen Naomi yet. We are looking forward to the family cookout.

We will post pictures when we return.

Happy 4th of July!

Praise the Lord we live in a free country and can celebrate our independence. We started off the day with the Lone Tree Firecracker 5k run. Shaun and some friends from church ran the 3.35 mile race. Naomi and I, along with families of the other runners, stood on the side to cheer them on. We are proud of you. Everyone did a great job.

VBS is over!

What a wonderful, but very busy week. Vacation Bible School went well and we had more kids then we have ever had. Thursday was our biggest day. We had 230 including workers and moms that came for Tea Time. The Lord answered prayer and there were some kids that got saved. Last night was the closing program. Moms and dads were invited to come see their kids say verses and sing some songs they had learned throughout the week. We had a great number of visiting families. We praise the Lord for answered prayer.
